In my search for the reason for severe pain in my knees and my back, I came across a book by Peter Egoscue called “Pain Free”. I read good reviews about this book on Amazon and decided to buy it. This book describes how misalignment in our body can case various peripheral muscles to take the burden of the weak muscle resulting in pain in various joints and how today’s traditional doctors focus on the symptom resolution instead of identifying the root cause of the problem. I searched and found an Egoscue center in the area and decided to visit the place to understand more. I met with the therapist there and she explained how my body seems to be misaligned around my hip (I have never experienced any pain around that region) and that seems to be causing the pain in my knees and possibly my back. All these alignment issues could also have caused my plantar fasciatis in my feet (the condition I have for the last 6-7 years). She gave me hope that if I continue doing the prescribed exercises for the next couple of months, I could actually be living pain free!
I hope that this theory works and that some day soon, I can be pain free. It’s been a few months now that I have living in severe pain, and several years since I have been living with foot pain. I have learned to live with the fact that I can’t stand for too long in one place, I can’t walk for too long or run for too long since all these activities cause my plantar fasciatis to get inflammed. If I am lucky, then maybe I have found the right solution for my entire body.
For now, I am continuing the physiotherapy and the Egoscue method to get pain relief. I have already done 5 physiotherapy sessions with not much difference, but I am praying for this Egoscue method to work so that I can get back to my exercise routine soon. I have been missing Crossfit and thinking about being able to do thosee exercises again one day soon…
